The Truth About Deep Tissue Manipulation Therapy New Orleans

Depending on which nickname you decide to use, the state capital of Louisiana is NOLA, the Big Easy, the City that Care Forgot or, simply, Nawlins. The things for which it is best known include Hurricane Katrina, jazz, creole architecture and Mardi Gras. The city is also big in sports, with two of the four major leagues, NBA basketball and NFL football represented. Other teams that make NOLA their home are a women's roller derby team and a women's football team. With all this sporting activity, it makes sense that there is a big need for deep tissue manipulation therapy New Orleans.

The New Orleans Saints is Nawlins' NFL professional football team. The team had a run of bad luck in the 1980s. Things were so bad, fans were seen on television to be seen wearing paper bags on their heads. By 2009, the team had recovered sufficiently to win the Super Bowl, NFL football's championship game. Investors are currently investigating the feasibility of forming a major league soccer team in the Big Easy.

The Pelicans is the city's local NBA basketball team. The franchise located temporarily in 2005 after fleeing the city as the result of damage inflicted by the deadly Hurricane Katrina. The team made it home in time for the 2007-2008 season.

The city also supports an Arena League football team called the Pelicans. The team plays in white and blue uniforms with a dash of red on each shoulder. The mascots are named Bones and Mojo, while the cheerleaders are affectionately referred to as the Voo Doo Dolls.

Nawlins is a popular landing spot for hurricanes. Hurricane Katrina, a deadly Category 5 storm, slammed into the city on August 29, 2005. Eighty percent of the city was under water in the resulting floods. Hurricane Katrina is one of the five deadliest hurricanes to make landfall in the United States and the seventh most intense Atlantic storm on record. One month later, Hurricane Rita hampered rescue and recovery efforts.

On the fun side, NOLAns celebrate Mardi Gras every year on Shrove Tuesday, the day before the commencement of Lent, which occurs on the following Wednesday. The French name of the giant street party translates into "Fat Tuesday, " in respect of the consuming of rich foods in preparation for the upcoming 40-day fast.

The aim of deep tissue massage therapy is to realign the deep tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments) in the leg muscles, shoulders and upper and lower back. A lot of the same manipulations are used that conventional massage therapists employ. Loosening the tissue clears toxins and enables the flow of oxygen and nutrients to where they are needed.

This causes toxins to accumulate and set up an inflammatory response, resulting in stress and pain. It is particularly important to make sure you are properly hydrated by drinking plenty of water both before and after your massage session.
